What's the maximum towing package available on a Ford?

If there's one thing you can rely on Ford vehicles for, it's getting the job done. You have a lot of things you need to bring with you throughout your journey, so you're gonna need the right Ford vehicle to tackle what lies ahead. No matter whether you're hauling extra plywood, appliances, or even people, there's a Ford vehicle to meet your needs for any occasion.

Full-sized Ford vehicles have some of the most powerful engines and best-in-class towing capacities on the market, but which one has the most 'pull' out of them all? Let Kentwood Ford help you find the answer! We've listed three different Ford vehicles from different classes that have the highest towing packages available for you to learn more about.

Ford Super Duty

Out of the other vehicles listed here, the Super Duty is amongst the most powerful vehicles Ford offers. It's the best heavy-duty pickup truck available and it has the towing capacity to back those claims up. The Ford Super Duty has a maximum conventional towing capacity of 21,000 lbs, making it the best in its class. That's because the Super Duty uses high-steel steel as its frame, making it stronger and sturdier than ever before.

Additionally, with the 5th-Wheel and Gooseneck Hitch Prep package for the Super Duty, the possibilities are practically endless. The gooseneck hitch, along with proper towing equipment, allows you to pull over 134,000 kg while the 5th-wheel hitch tow rating can go up to 27,500 kg. Needless to say, if you plan on hauling heavy loads and materials, this is as good as it gets.

Ford F-150

In contrast to the Super Duty, the classic Ford F-150 is classified as a light-duty pickup truck--but don't let that fool you for one second. The F-150 is also known for offering best-in-class performance and towing while also being heavily regarded as one of the best pickup trucks in its class. This year's iteration is no different, as the Ford F-150 is capable of towing up to 13,200 lbs when paired with the available 3.5L EcoBoost engine.

Ford Expedition

A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. The Ford Expedition is the company's first truck-based SUV with an 8-seat passenger capacity and up to 3,440 litres of cargo capacity. While the last two pickup trucks have really powerful towing capacities, you'd be surprised with how this SUV is able to keep up. The Expedition, when equipped with the Heavy-Duty Tow Package, has a maximum towing capacity of up to 9,200 lbs. Additionally, the Expedition also features a standard Trailer Sway Control system with Roll Stability Control (RSC) that keeps whatever you're towing under control no matter how heavy the load or how tight your turning is on corners.

Overall, it's hard to deny that Ford trucks (and one SUV) continuously provides best-in-class performance and towing across several models. To learn more about our Ford vehicles and towing packages available, make sure to let us here at Kentwood Ford know if you have any questions!
