Carbon Fibre Materials

It all starts with its design. The Ford GTs low-riding, teardrop-shaped body is entirely built with a lightweight carbon fibre construction that maximizes the vehicle's aerodynamic performance and speed. Combined with its fairly hefty curb weight of 1,385 kg (or 3,054 lbs) and suspension adjustable up to 50mm, it's designed to keep its centre of gravity at its lowest position possible to maximize the vehicle's aerodynamic performance. Along with the body, the rear wing of the Ford GT contributes to enhancing the overall airflow of the vehicle, no matter whether or not it's deployed.

3.5L EcoBoost Engine

Underneath the Ford GT's slim and streamlined exterior, lies an unbelievably powerful force. Imagine the power of a Ford Super Duty inside an aerodynamic supercar. The twin-turbocharged, intercooled 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine achieves new heights, producing more than 600 horsepower and over 550 lb.-ft. of torque. While some Ford models come with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine, such as the F-150 Raptor, the GT's twin-turbochargers give it an extra edge in performance. Needless to say, it's an engineering feat that's hard to surpass.



Exhausts and Buttress

The exhausts on the Ford GT work to give the midsection of the body maximized performance at the bottom of the vehicle. This maintains airflow throughout the vehicle, especially at the top. Meanwhile, the buttresses on the back side of the vehicle add strength to the chassis. This helps the airflow flow over the top of the car, so it reduces drag and optimizes the already exceptional performance. Both the exhausts and buttresses work together to optimize airflow so the Ford GT stays in front of the competition while it's on the racetrack.
