Most Fuel-Efficient Ford Vehicles
It’s 2018 and Ford is working hard to constantly improve its technology in order to positively contribute to the sustainability of our environment. Year after year, Ford is designing and creating more fuel-efficient and environmentally-friendly engines and vehicles for its consumers. Environmental sustainability is not just a fad, it’s a way of creating a viable environment for our generation and the ones to come. And at Kentwood Ford, we are also contributing to this initiative by providing our customers with the information they need to make the choice that not only suits their needs but also best for the environment. This is a brief summary of Ford’s most fuel-efficient vehicles on the market in each category including sedans, SUVs and trucks.
Sedans
Ford Fusion Energi SE | Ford Focus SE Sedan | Ford Fiesta S
Engine type | 2.0L Atkinson-Cycle I-4 Fusion Energi Plug-in Hybrid Engine | 1.0L EcoBoost® Engine with Auto Start/Stop | 1.6L 16-valve® I-4 |
Fuel Efficiency (L/100km2) | 2.4/5.6 Le/100km2 | 7.9/5.9 L/100km2 | 8.6/6.7 L/100km2 |
From a general point of view, sedans are the most fuel-efficient vehicles. This is mainly due to their size and that of their corresponding engines. Because the smaller a vehicle is, the less power it needs to run. Out of Ford’s outstanding collection of sedans, the Ford Fiesta S, the Ford Focus SE Sedan and the Ford Fusion Energi SE are the cars that have the lowest gas mileage. More specifically, the Ford Fusion Energi SE is the most fuel- efficient out of all of them thanks to its Energi Plug-in Hybrid engine with a fuel economy of 2.4/5.6 Le/100km2.
SUVs
Ford EcoSport S | Ford Escape SE
Engine type | 1.0L EcoBoost® I-3 with Auto Start-Stop | 1.5L EcoBoost® |
Fuel Efficiency (L/100km2) | 8.6/8.1 L/100km2 | 10.2/7.8 L/100km2 |
Many individuals and families living in Edmonton usually prefer driving a Sport Utility Vehicle or SUV because of the better sense of safety it provides. And because of their larger size by make, SUVs tend to use more gasoline compared to sedans or hatchbacks. However, there are some SUVs that have been specifically designed to be more fuel-efficient such as the Ford EcoSport S and the Ford Escape SE. These vehicles respectively have a fuel economy of 8.6/8.1L/100km2 and 10.2/7.8 L/100km2. Their low gas mileage is due to their Ecoboost ® engines which are created to produce more power with less fuel.
Trucks
Ford F-150 Lariat | |
Engine type | 2.7L EcoBoost® |
Fuel Efficiency (L/100km2) | 11.9/9.0 L/100km2 |
