Ford’s Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system is perfect for everyday driving and handling on the road. The system’s sensors balance torque between the front and rear wheels, giving your Ford better handling and traction while driving before a wheelslip even happens. That means your vehicle’s grip is enhanced no matter what the road conditions may be. Additionally, the AWD system activates automatically to quickly adjust the torque towards either the front or rear wheels depending on the current road condition. Most Ford SUVs come standard with Intelligent AWD with a handful of Ford sedans available to upgrade.
With the Intelligent 4WD system from Ford, you have the power to conquer any terrain imaginable. This system was made to handle anything from mud, snow, sand, gravel, grass, and even dirt. In the same vein as the Intelligent AWD system, the 4WD system constantly monitors the drivetrain power and distributes the torque to different sets of wheels depending on the road conditions so your traction is enhanced. Paired with the additional Terrain Management System, you can change between different sets of driving modes on the fly with just one switch. If your trying to handle wet or muddy conditions, the Terrain Management System lets you control the wheelspin to increase momentum.
