Here at Kentwood Ford, we can’t stop talking about the latest model year of the Ford Edge (and with good reason, too!). The 2019 Edge is a welcome mid-cycle refresh of Ford’s mid-sized SUV and we accept any challenger that’s willing to test its awesomeness—such as the Kia Sportage. There have been many worthy competitors in the past, but the Ford Edge hasn’t had any trouble coming out on top. Take a look and see how these two SUVs stack up against each other, here at your north Edmonton Ford dealer.

It’s a no-brainer that the Ford Edge brings more to the table at a better price. For over $1,000 less than the Kia Sportage, the 2019 Edge can produce higher horsepower, torque, and better highway fuel economy, even with a smaller engine (thanks, EcoBoost!). The 2019 Edge also comes with a higher-performing 8-speed automatic transmission compared to the Sportage’s 6, making the Edge an overall better performer and greater value SUV.

The Ford Edge’s price point may be less than the Kia Sportage’s, but when you step inside, you’ll find that its interior is anything but. That’s because the 2019 Edge offers more interior cargo volume, even when all the back seats are in use (which, by the way, still has more space than the Sportage). If you want to maximize your cargo space, the Edge still comes out on top, with over 300L extra in maximum cargo volume.
