Thanks to the latest advancements Ford’s made with their line of trucks, the Ranger receives numerous upgrades across the board since its last iteration. For starters, the Ranger features a fully boxed high-strength steel frame, as well as steel front and rear bumpers for maximum durability on and off roads. It’s build quality and double-wishbone suspension have been designed, engineered, and even tested to the same standards as the F-150, so you know you’re driving a truck that’s “Built Ford Tough”.
Meanwhile, one of the most impressive updates for the Ford Ranger comes under the hood, thanks to its all-new 2.3L EcoBoost engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology for a balanced combination of power and fuel-efficiency. The Ranger also receives Ford’s class-exclusive 10-speed automatic transmission for smoother, on-the-fly shifting—but the advancements don’t stop there. When you step inside the Ford Ranger you’ll also find that the latest convenience and safety technologies are also along for the ride, including the intuitive SYNC® 3 infotainment system with an 8″ LCD touchscreen, complete with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Along with other features like the FordPass Connect with Wi-Fi hotspot, adaptive cruise control, and the premium B&O Premium Audio System by HARMAN, it’s clear the Ford Ranger was built for 2019.
When the Ranger initially ceased production in 2011, it’s been using the third generation build and design since 1998. It had a 3-inch wheelbase with rack and pinion steering and a 2.5L SOHC I4 engine that produced a 117 hp and 149 lb-ft of torque. Design-wise, the Ranger received minor updates to the grille, hood, and front bumper throughout the years, with most of the redesigns being made in the all-new 2019 Ranger.
