Ford constantly works hard in improving its technology to positively contribute to a more environmentally sustainable future. Year after year, Ford designs and engineers more fuel-efficient and environmentally-friendly engines and vehicles for its consumers than any other manufacturer on the planet. At Kentwood Ford, we are also contributing to this initiative by providing you with the information you need to make an ecologically-friendly choice. This is a brief summary of Ford’s most fuel-efficient vehicle from each category including sedans, SUVs and trucks.

Fuel Efficiency – city/hwy (L/100km2) | 10.0/7.0 |
From a general point of view, sedans are the most fuel-efficient vehicles. This is mainly due to their size and corresponding engines—because the smaller a vehicle is, the less power it needs to run. From Ford’s outstanding collection of sedans, the Ford Fusion SE has the lowest gas mileage in our inventory. More specifically, the Ford Fusion SE is the most fuel- efficient of them all, thanks to its 1.5L EcoBoost® engine with a fuel economy of 10.0L/100km in the city and 7.0L/100km on the highway.

Many individuals and families living in Edmonton prefer driving a Sport Utility Vehicle or SUV because of the better sense of safety it provides. And because of their larger size by make, SUVs tend to use more gasoline compared to sedans or hatchbacks. However, there are some SUVs that have been specifically designed to be more fuel-efficient such as the Ford EcoSport S and SE, as well as the Ford Escape SE. These vehicles have a fuel economy of 8.6/8.1L/100km and 10.2/7.8 L/100km, respectively. Their low gas mileage can be attributed to their Ecoboost® engines which are created to produce more power with less fuel.
Ford F-150 Lariat | Ford Ranger XL/XLT/Lariat | |
Engine type | 2.7L EcoBoost® | 2.3L EcoBoost® |
Fuel Efficiency (L/100km2) | 12.0/9.0 | 11.8/9.8 |
Ford manufactures various trucks for different needs, such as the Ford F-150, the Ford Ranger and the Ford Super Duty line of trucks. The most popular one remains the Ford F-150 which is more than capable of producing all the power drivers need to get their work done. However, from a fuel economy point of view, the Ford Ranger provides the best combination of power and fuel efficiency. Thanks to its 2.3L EcoBoost® engine, the Ranger has a fuel efficiency of 11.8 L/100km in the city and 9.8 L/100km on the highway.
